Two slices of puff pastry, cut into eight equal squares
Small bunch of asparagus
8 small slices of Monterey Jack cheese (or cheese of choice)
1 egg (for egg wash)
1-2 Tbsp honey
1-2 Tbsp olive oil
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with baking paper.
Slice the puff pastry into eight equal squares (4 squares per sheet) and place them on a large baking sheet.
Using a pastry brush, brush each slice of pastry with both olive oil and honey
In the center of each pastry square, lay down one slice of Citterio Prosciutto, followed by 5 to 6 asparagus spears and a slice of Monterey Jack cheese.
Fold two corners of the square to meet each other in the middle and press down to seal.
Brush the asparagus with a little olive oil. Then brush each pastry with the egg wash.
Bake in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
