Prosciutto Asparagus Pastries

Ingredients

  • 1 packet Citterio Prosciutto Fresco
  • Two slices of puff pastry, cut into eight equal squares
  • Small bunch of asparagus 
  • 8 small slices of Monterey Jack cheese (or cheese of choice)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1-2 Tbsp honey
  • 1-2 Tbsp olive oil

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with baking paper. 
  2. Slice the puff pastry into eight equal squares (4 squares per sheet) and place them on a large baking sheet.
  3. Using a pastry brush, brush each slice of pastry with both olive oil and honey
  4. In the center of each pastry square, lay down one slice of Citterio Prosciutto, followed by 5 to 6 asparagus spears and a slice of Monterey Jack cheese.
  5. Fold two corners of the square to meet each other in the middle and press down to seal.
  6. Brush the asparagus with a little olive oil. Then brush each pastry with the egg wash. 
  7. Bake in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
